Micah Ivey is now a 'back to back' AGA Cup champ after winning yesterday's Big Air competition @ Mt. Holly's 6th Annual Snowboard-Ski comp. Originally scheduled for Saturday but pushed back to Sunday due to power outage, the popular event proved to be worth the wait.

Ivey and 2012 Dalton Cruz, who captured the AGA Cup for snowboard put on an awesome display in front of the Mt. Holly crowd. Both Ivey and Cruz took home cash, AGA Cup replica and prizes.

Just announced, BMX Freestyle has been officially added to this year's 2012 Meijer State Games sports line-up, an annual festival hosted by the West Michigan Sports Commission.

The popular competition held by the AGA as been a staple of the Grand Haven Skate Park annual event for the past 3 years. Past winners including Ben Fisher (09'-10) and Malcolm Forbes (2011) are expected once again to compete for the AGA Cup championship and now, State Games medal.

Michigan High School Snowboarding Association's Boardercross State Championships took place at Mt Brighton. The event featured two leagues and ten (10) local high school teams including Brighton, Milford, Lakeland, Hartland, Howell, Pinckney, Walled Lake. Some of the area's top boarders competed for 2012 bragging rights.

The McDonald's AGA Cup Championships return to Grand Haven for the 4th year in a row and once again part of the Meijer State Games! Today for the second year in a row the West Michigan Sports Commission announced the 2012 festival will feature skateboarding as one of the 31 sports.

Last year, Jake Keenan (AGA Cup/Advance 2012) and Luke Zmijewski (AGA Cup/Jr. Jam 2012) took top honors in skateboarding while Malcolm Forbes outlasted two-time AGA Cup BMX champ Ben Fisher for the 2011 championship.  More details including AGA Cup $$ purse and event format to be announced in the coming months.
